Little Puppies the Long Way has Puppies Available for Adoption!
At Little Puppies the Long Way, we are committed to ensuring our puppies go to loving, responsible homes. We currently have puppies available for adoption, as well as a waitlist for upcoming litters.
Adopting an Available Puppy
Each puppy goes home with an adoption contract/health guarantee (last update: 1/2/26), plus a box full of goodies and a detailed training guide to help you continue their progress at home. Our prices generally range from $2,500–$4,000, and we do our best to be flexible within reason to help wonderful families find the right match.
For families interested in puppies that are currently available, the process is as follows:
Application & Meeting: All interested parties must complete an application form for their chosen puppy. After reviewing your application, we will contact you for a follow-up video or in person meeting. This gives you the opportunity to meet the puppies and gives both parties a chance to ask any additional questions before moving to next steps.
Reserve Your Puppy: We require a $500 deposit to officially reserve your puppy. Once the deposit is received, your puppy will be marked as "reserved." The remaining balance is due either in advance or at the time of pickup. We accept debit and credit card payments, and payment plans may be offered at our discretion. Taxes are included in the listed price—no additional fees beyond the advertised amount.
Regular Updates: Once your puppy is reserved, you will receive regular updates on their progress until the designated pickup date. We encourage all of our adoptive families to stay in touch, ask for advice, and prepare for their new puppy’s arrival.
Joining the Waitlist
For families interested in future litters, we offer the option to join our waitlist. Here’s how it works:
Application & Video Call: Just like with adopting an available puppy, all interested parties must complete an application form and have a video or in-person meeting to ensure we are a good fit for your family.
Waitlist Process: Families on the waitlist will be contacted to schedule a visit when we have updated our available puppies. All visits take place after 8 weeks old, allowing us to start vaccines and assess temperaments. Puppies without scheduled visits by 8 weeks will be available to new applicants.
Reserve Your Puppy: After all visits are completed, you may be invited to place a deposit on a puppy. You will have 24 hours from that invitation to submit your $500 deposit before we move on to the next interested family. Once the deposit is received, your puppy will be marked as “reserved.”
Regular Updates: Families on the waitlist will also receive regular updates on the puppies’ training progress until their new puppy is ready for pickup.
Delivery & Travel Options
Local Delivery: The first hour of travel (round trip) is free.
Additional Travel: $30 per hour for travel beyond the first hour (not exceeding 6 hours).
Flying: $15 per hour for flight time, plus the cost of the flight and any necessary hotel stays. Flights must be arranged from Monterey or San Jose at least 3 weeks in advance.

Dognality: Cosmo’s name suits him well. He has always been the first to explore new territory, from venturing out of the crate for the first time to checking out the great outdoors. Cosmo isn't one to let a little thing like the unknown stand in his way. One small step for a puppy, one giant leap for puppy-kind!
He might not be the biggest puppy in the bunch, but he certainly doesn't seem to know that. Cosmo approaches new experiences with confidence and curiosity, always ready to see what's waiting around the next corner. He's a little guy with a big sense of adventure.
When it's time to recharge, Cosmo has been hanging out in the living room with the bigger puppies. He enjoys company and is very affectionate, but he doesn't need a buddy to get where he's going. He's perfectly happy to head off on his own and explore whatever has caught his attention.
Play for Cosmo falls somewhere in the middle. He's happy to join in with the other puppies and have some fun, but he has plenty of other interests, too. Exploring the world around him is clearly high on his list!
Cosmo is still growing and discovering new things every day. We'll share more about his training as he progresses, but for now, this little explorer is already showing us that you don't have to be big to have a big world to discover.
Check out Cosmo's training videos on our Instagram! (coming soon)
We might just have to keep this one
